November 18, 2024 (Boston, MA) – President-elect Donald Trump said he would nominate Chris Wright, the CEO of Denver-based fracking company Liberty Energy, to lead the Energy Department as Energy Secretary. Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) released the following statement in response.

“Chris Wright’s nomination as Energy Secretary is deeply troubling, but consistent with that of other cabinet nominee-designates who are hostile to the missions Congress has given their department or agency to lead,” said CLF President Brad Campbell. “Wright’s indifference to the devastation communities already are suffering from increased burning of fossil fuels should be disqualifying for any candidate to steer the nation’s energy policy.”
