November 14, 2024 (Boston, MA) – Climate legislation is headed to Governor Maura Healey’s desk after both the Massachusetts House and Senate passed a clean energy bill. The bill includes equitable siting reform and curbing the expansion and overspending in our gas system, two of the areas where Conservation Law Foundation (CLF) focused its advocacy during the most recent session. Conservation Law Foundation released the following statement in response.
“This is a positive step forward. We are encouraged that lawmakers listened to residents, reached a compromise, and passed crucial reforms on energy siting, curbing gas expansion, and enhancing utility resilience,” said Caitlin Peale Sloan, Vice President of CLF Massachusetts. “This bill will improve our environment and the lives of Massachusetts residents. Governor Healey should sign this bill into law.”
