From Pittsfield to Provincetown, regional transit authorities provide the only public transportation service available in most of the 351 cities and towns across the Commonwealth. The Worcester Regional Transit Authority is no exception.
Unfortunately, amid drastically declining ridership during the COVID-19 pandemic, the state’s RTAs are financially struggling. Adding insult to injury, there is currently no state budget approved to fund transportation beyond October and federal funds are running out.
