“There is growing evidence of a correlation between cyanobacteria and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s disease and ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease,” said Tom Irwin of the Conservation law Foundation.
Irwin said the organization hopes that the lawsuit forces the state to invest in treatment technologies to end the problem.
