Shira Gubb is the Vice President for Human Resources at CLF, where she oversees HR functions for the organization – including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. Shira has experience prior to CLF in both nonprofit and for-profit organizations as well as municipal government.
She most recently worked at the Cambridge Public Library for six years, where she oversaw HR for a staff of over 120 across seven different locations. Prior to the Cambridge Public Library, Shira worked as the Employment and Training Specialist at New England Aquarium. There, she created a centralized and streamlined recruitment process and planned and executed training programs. She began her career in the hospitality industry, working as an HR Generalist for Fairmont Hotels. Throughout her career, Shira has prioritized performing her work through a lens of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism and looks forward to continuing that in all aspects of HR at CLF.
Shira holds a B.S. in Hospitality Administration from Boston University and is thrilled to be supporting CLF’s crucial work. She lives in Somerville, MA, with her husband and two kids and enjoys travel, yoga, and delicious food.
